 Cancellation of GST registration certificate

In the circumstances specified in Article 29 of the CGST / SGST Act, the registration issued in compliance with this Act shall be cancelled by the responsible officer. In case of death of that person, the officer may, on his own motion or on a request lodged, revoke the registration in such a way as may be prescribed and within such time by the Registered Taxable Person or by his Legal Heirs. According to the registration rules, an order is to be given for cancellation within 30 days of receipt of the response to SCN or the date on which the request for cancellation was sent. However, the officer must follow the principles of natural justice before canceling the certificate.
