Since Morocco is close to Europe, flights are cheap and short. It’s even possible to take a boat to visit the country from Spain. Morocco has some of the best African cities, including Marrakesh and Fez. Both of these cities have beautiful streets that photographers love to walk through.
You can also make a trip to the Atlas Mountains, have a rich cultural experience in Chefchaouen, and relax on the coast at Essaouira.
Morocco is also a very diverse country. You’ll often hear people speaking languages such as Arabic, French, English, and Bedouin.
If you choose to go to Morocco, make sure to eat at traditional restaurants and try a cup of mint tea.
2. Go on a Safari and Visit the Ocean if You Have Two Weeks in Africa
With two weeks for vacationing, you’ll have plenty of time for checking out Kenya and Tanzania. But if you are on a budget, consider visiting only one of these countries.
You should visit Tanzania if you want to take in some of Africa’s most scenic landscapes while going on a safari.
Don’t miss out on visiting Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. And make sure to give yourself enough time. Most people regret not staying for longer.
It’s not difficult to find tours to game reserves at the last minute. If you want to do this, make sure to go to the village of Arusha. It’s a nice place to base yourself and to take in the sights and sounds of a traditional Tanzanian town.
After going on a safari, make your way to the coast. Most people choose to make the capital city of Dar Es Salaam their first stop before jumping on a ferry to Zanzibar. It’s also possible to visit mount Kilimanjaro instead of going to the coast.
You can then make your way to Kenya, which borders Tanzania. This is another great country to visit for those who want to go on a safari.
3. If You Have Three Weeks, Explore Southern Africa
Start a three-week trip in South Africa. The easiest way to get there is by taking a plane to the capital city of Cape Town. Spend three or four days visiting the incredible heights of this one-of-a-kind city before setting out along the South African coast.
Take time to visit the Wild Coast, and if you enjoy drinking wine, don’t miss out on visiting wine country.
If you set aside at least ten days to spend in South Africa, you should have the chance to visit many of the country’s top sights.
Next, travel to Botswana so that you can visit the Okavango Delta and Chobe River National Park. Next, cross the border into Zimbabwe and visit Victoria Falls.
4. Visit the Northern Highlands if You Have One Month to Spend
Start your one-month trip by traveling to Egypt. There is so much to see in this country that you need to set aside at least ten days to see it all.
First, go to Cairo so that you can see the Phinx and the Pyramids. If you like spending time at the beach, don’t forget to visit the Red Sea. Many travelers choose to spend time in the relaxed town of Dahab. It has great cafes and the food is cheap.
If you enjoy visiting historical sights, consider going to Sudan. You can then take a flight to Ethiopia to visit the churches of Lalibela and go hiking in the Simien Mountains.
5. Traverse South and East Africa if You Have Two Months to Spend
Along with making a visit to South Africa, make sure that you go to Nambia. It is home to Etosha National Park, one of the continent’s top wildlife sanctuaries.
While traveling through Nambia, keep in mind that the country is huge and sparsely populated. This means that it can take a long time to travel from one city to another.
Next, don’t forget to go to Zambia if you want to get close to hippos, elephants, and giraffes.
If you like visiting lakes, consider traveling to Malawi to take in the splendid sights of Lake Malawi.
