All You Need to Know About the Eastern Express Highway and Eastern Freeway

Where are the exit and entry points of the eastern express highway and eastern freeway? Mumbai is the biggest city in India that contribute to the GDP. Eastern Express Highway is cut by The Sion-Panvel Highway at the RCF junction and links to the various areas of Mumbai city. Eastern express highway is known as the Dr. Ambedkar Road among people.

Eastern Freeway

Eastern Freeway is known as the Vilasrao Deshmukh Eastern Freeway officially. It spans 16.8km. This controlled-access and high-speed highway starts from Orange Gate and end at the Eastern Express Highway.

This Mumbai highway is built by the Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). It is financed by the Central Government. The best thing is that there are a total of 9 entry-exit ramps that are equipped with seismic arresters and able to bear earthquakes of 7.5 Richter scale.

Entry and exit points of the eastern freeway:

  • Port road near dockyard road and Nawab tank is used for exit only
  • The orange gate is used as the entry and exit points
  • Bhakti Park is used as exit and entry points
  • Sewri station is used as entry and exit points
  • Shivaji Chowk is used as entry and exit points
  • Reay Road is used only for entry
  • RCF Junction and Mysore colony is used as entry and exit points
  • Ghatkopar is used as entry and exit points
  • Govandi is also used for both entry and exit
